Schilz, Steffen Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Matt Schilz and women's basketball player Chrissy Steffen.
Male Athlete of the Week
Matt Schilz, a redshirt sophomore quarterback from Arcadia, Calif., threw four 236 yards and four touchdowns as Bowling Green closed out the 2011 regular season with a 42-28 road victory over Buffalo. Schilz threw two touchdown passes each to Eugene Cooper and Kamar Jorden, helping the Falcons erase an early 17-7 deficit.
Female Athlete of the Week
Chrissy Steffen, a junior guard from Carmel, Ind., had a career-high 23 points in the Falcons 57-49 come-from-behind win at Detroit. She scored 16 of her points in the second half, including back-to-back three-pointers to give BGSU a 37-35 lead. With the score tied at 42-42, Steffen scored five straight points.
