Men's Soccer Falcons Announce Spring Schedule

Bowling Green State University men's soccer coach Eric Nichols has announced his team's spring schedule for 2011. The Falcons will have a total of three home dates during the spring season, with matches beginning in late March and extending through April.
BGSU will begin the spring slate with three road trips. On Saturday, March 26, the Falcons will head to Cleveland for a match vs. Cleveland State. Then, the next weekend, the Brown and Orange will play a Friday night (April 1) contest at Dayton.
The next weekend, the Falcons will venture to Xenia, Ohio, to participate in an Athletes in Action event. BGSU will play three abbreviated games on Sunday, April 10, with 45 minutes of competition against Ohio State, Cincinnati and Wright State.
BG's final three spring events all will take place at home. On Friday, April 15, the Falcons will hold their annual Alumni Game, with a number of former BGSU standouts taking on the current squad. Then, on Tuesday, April 26, BGSU will face the Dayton Dutch Lyons, a professional team that competes in the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
The spring schedule concludes on Saturday, April 30, with a 1:00 p.m. home game vs. Notre Dame College.
Nichols and the Falcons finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 6-9-3 and a MAC ledger of 3-3-0. BGSU, after being picked to place sixth in the MAC, tied for third in the league's final regular-season standings and returned to the conference tournament after a one-year absence. BGSU, with just four seniors on the 26-man roster in '10, doubled the overall win total from the previous fall.
