Hunter Maynard, a 2011 signee of the Bowling Green State University football team, was named the South Defensive MVP in the Ohio North/South Classic game last Friday (Apr. 22).
Maynard, a native of Ashville, Ohio, checks in at 6-1, 310 pounds. In the contest he recorded six tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, a pair of quarterback hurries and forced a fumble, helping his team to victory.
Maynard helped lead his team to a state championship earlier this year and earned second-team All-Ohio as a senior. He finished his high school career with 27 sacks.
