Schilz, Zuccaro Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Matt Schilz and women's soccer player Alyssa Zuccaro.
Male Athlete of the Week
Matt Schilz, a sophomore from Arcadia, Calif., completed 19-of-24 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns as Bowling Green beat Miami (Ohio) 37-23 on the road Saturday as the Falcons moved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in MAC play. Schilz has 14 touchdown passes on the season, leading the country in that stat.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alyssa Zuccaro, a senior from Mentor, Ohio, scored two goals to lift BGSU to a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Buffalo to open the MAC schedule. She tied the contest with a goal at the 64:25 mark then notched her fourth goal of the year with just 1:03 left in the second half. The multi-goal game was her third of her career.
