Hammond, Rogers Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Andrew Hammond and women's basketball player Alexis Rogers.
Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Hammond, a junior from Surrey, British Columbia, made 49 saves (18 Saturday and 31 Sunday) as the BGSU hockey team earned two shootout victories over No. 2 Ohio State. Hammond recorded a 1.39 goals against average with a .942 save percentage, winning both shootouts during the weekend.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alexis Rogers, a redshirt sophomore from West Chester, Ohio, led the Falcons in scoring in rebounding as the BGSU women's basketball team opened MAC play with a pair of wins. She averaged 21.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game as the Falcons beat Kent State and Akron. She set career highs with 26 points and 14 rebounds against Akron and shot 55 percent from the field in the two games.
