Student-Athletes Thank Supporters
December 12, 2012 | General, Falcon Club
Bowling Green, Ohio - More than 40 BGSU student-athletes took a break from studying for finals Friday to say thank you to loyal athletics supporters. The student-athletes volunteered to call Falcon Club members and thank them for their support, making more 1,100 phone calls.
"The Thank-A-Thon is a great program in BGSU Athletics and allows our student-athletes the opportunity to say thank you to the individuals contributing to their scholarships and their sport," Assistant Director of the Falcon Club Megan Gormley said. "It was great to see the student-athletes get excited about their conversations and hear from the fans who cheer them on from the stands. Thank-A-Thon is something I participated in when I was a student-athlete at BGSU and is something we will continue to do.
“All gifts to Falcon Club, no matter the size, impact the lives of our student-athletes and this was a nice way for our donors to better understand the impact they are making," Gormley said.
"It was great to talk to the people who have given so much to us without even knowing who we are," Ryan Comiskey, a junior on the BGSU men's soccer team, stated. "It felt good to be able to say thank you to those people who have been so generous to us, especially the people that made the lights at the soccer stadium possible. Every donation helps turn our program in the right direction."
