Ryan Wood Named Strength And Conditioning Intern

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department has announced that Ryan Wood has been named Strength and Conditioning Intern. Wood comes from Michigan State, where he worked as a graduate assistant for the Spartans.
“I am excited to have Ryan as our new intern in strength and conditioning,” Brandon Hourigan, Director of Strength and Conditioning, said. “He comes highly recommended by Michigan State Strength Coach Ken Mannie.”
Wood most recently work with Michigan State's men's and women's basketball, hockey, football, men's golf and men's tennis teams in his graduate assistantship with Michigan State. This summer, he assisted the strength and conditioning staff at Illinois with the football strongman competition. He was a student manager for the Saginaw Valley State men's basketball team, where he earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology. He has also served as an assistant basketball coach at the high school level and worked with the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League on a mini-NHL combine workout.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to work at Bowling Green with such tremendous athletic administration, student-athletes, and student body,” Wood said. “I want to thank Coach Hourigan and his staff for giving me this opportunity. I am excited to be a Falcon.”
Wood is a certified coach by the Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and is a member of the United States of America Weightlifting organization, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
