August 28, 2012 | Men's Soccer
BGSU junior GK wins league weekly honor for first time

Wiest, a native of Naperville, Ill. (North H.S) made seven saves to earn a complete-match shutout in the Falcons' lone match last week, a 3-0 victory over Saint Bonaventure at Cochrane Field. The win came before a crowd of over 2,000.
Wiest's total of seven saves tied his career high, and the shutout was the seventh of his BGSU career, in 14 career starts. Additionally, it was his fifth shutout in eight home matches as a Falcon.
The junior currently has a record of 3-0-0 and a goals-against average of 0.00 during the month of August in his career, having made 15 saves without allowing a goal in 270 minutes of action during that month.
The Falcons of coach Eric Nichols continue a season-opening three-match homestand with a Wednesday (Aug. 29) game against Michigan State. Then, the Brown and Orange will host Marshall on Saturday (Sept. 1). Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Cochrane Field, and admission is free.
