Jones Named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week

The Mid-American Conference office announced Monday afternoon that Bowling Green State University senior Chris Jones has been named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.
Jones finished last Saturday's contest versus Toledo with four tackles, 2.0 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. The defensive tackle added a forced fumble and was part of a defensive line that helped hold the Rockets to just 130 yards on the ground, 50 yards below their season average.
The Brownsburg, Ind., native earned the same award after recording five tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss in the win versus Idaho.
Jones, one of six captains for the Falcons, has 126 tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss, 19.0 sacks, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in his career.
