Comiskey earns the league weekly honor for the first time this year, and the first time in his BGSU career. It also marks BG's first MAC P-O-W award this season.
The senior striker ended his career with a bang, scoring a total of four goals as BG posted a win and a tie in two games last week. Comiskey had the first two-goal game of his career in Tuesday's (Nov. 5) 8-0 win over IPFW at Cochrane Field. Then, he had the second such game in his career – and his second in as many games – in the Falcons' 3-3, double-overtime draw at West Virginia Friday night (Nov. 8).
Against IPFW, Comiskey led all players and shattered his previous career bests with nine total shots and five shots on goal. He scored the Falcons' second goal of the game in the 18th minute, then scored BG's fourth goal in the 58th minute.
At WVU, Comiskey twice gave the Falcons the lead, scoring the first goal of the night with just 2:54 gone, then giving the Brown and Orange a 2-1 lead at the 22:45 mark.
A native of Grantville, Pa. (Northern Lebanon H.S.), Comiskey ended the season as the Falcons' scoring leader, with team-best totals of six goals and 13 points. In MAC matches, he led the Falcons in both categories (three goals and six points) despite missing one of the team's six conference contests.
Comiskey finished his BG career with totals of 12 goals, four assists and 28 points in 67 matches. He scored two goals in each of his first three seasons before matching his previous career total with the six goals this year.
Comiskey shared this week's MAC-Player-of-the-Week honor with Akron's Aodhan Quinn.
The Falcons of head coach Eric Nichols ended the season with an overall mark of 6-7-6 and a MAC record of 2-2-2. BGSU tied with WVU for fourth place in the final MAC regular-season standings, but the Mountaineers earned the fourth and final berth in the MAC Tournament field. Nichols and his coaching staff had a total of 10 seniors on the 2013 roster.
