Cooper, Halfhill Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Mark Cooper and women's basketball player Jillian Halfhill.

Male Athlete of the Week
Mark Cooper, a sophomore forward from Toronto, Ontario, tallied four goals over the weekend, helping the Falcons finish 1-1 against WCHA foe Minnesota State University. Cooper recorded a hat trick and had the game-winning goal in overtime with 31 seconds remaining to defeat the Mavericks on Friday night. Cooper also recorded a goal on Saturday night, and finished with a +2 on-ice rating over the weekend.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jillian Halfhill, a senior from Canfield, Ohio, led BGSU to a 3-1 record, all away from home. She averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest as BGSU beat Butler, Old Dominion and Ohio State. She was 9-of-18 on three-pointers for the week and had 13 points, five rebounds and six assists in the team's marquee victory over in-state rival Ohio State.
