Tate Named MAC Scholar Athlete Of The Week

Redshirt sophomore kicker currently holds 4.0 GPA in exercise science
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Redshirt sophomore Tyler Tate has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. Tate, from Carroll, Ohio, holds a perfect 4.0 grade point average in exercise science.
On Saturday, Tate set a career-high with 16 points in the Falcons 58-7 win at Eastern Michigan. He also set a career-high with three field goals in the game, and tied his career-high with seven extra points.
The Falcons will travel to Buffalo on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in a game which will determine the MAC East Division champion. The game will be aired on ESPNU.
