BGSU’s Rinker Tabbed MAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University sophomore Brett Rinker was tabbed the MAC Men's Golfer of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.
Brett Rinker finished his fall season out on a high note, as he led the Falcons with rounds of 71, 71 and 68 to finish in a tie for eighth-place overall at the 2014 Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic in Hawai'i last weekend. The sophomore turned in a season-low 18-hole score of 68 on the final round of play to post his first top-10 finish of the fall season. Rinker totaled 10 birdies and one eagle over his 54-holes of play to give him a career-low 54-hole score of 210, -3 under par.
His eighth-place individual showing helped to lead the Falcons to a sixth-place team finish overall out of the 13-team field event. BGSU finished behind Oregon, North Florida, Georgia, Kansas and Clemson.
Rinker becomes the second Falcon golfer to earn the weekly conference award this season, joining fellow classmate Jose Narro who was named the MAC Golfer of the Week back on Sept. 10.
