Holmes, Griffin Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Richaun Holmes and swimmer Victoria Griffin.
Male Athlete of the Week
Richaun Holmes, a junior from Lockport, Ill. averaged 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game as BGSU split two MAC contests. He had 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 37 minutes at Eastern Michigan before posting 16 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a come from behind win over Buffalo.
Female Athlete of the Week
Victoria Griffin, a freshman from Littlestown, Pa., won the 100 and 200 freestyle, along with swimming a leg of the victorious 200 free relay as BGSU defeated Ohio. She also won the 50 freestyle in a win over Marshall that extended the team's dual win streak to four. Her times in the 100 and 200 freestyle were the best in the MAC this week.
