March 27, 2014 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted its fourth annual Networking Night Reception Wednesday evening. The event was held on the main concourse of Stroh Center with over 100 student-athletes and 35 professionals in attendance. The reception provided student-athletes the chance to mingle and network with local professionals in different fields.
"I thought the reception was very beneficial," BGSU softball player Jamie Kertes said. "Talking to the professionals really helped me with the communication aspect. I also learned what professionals in certain fields are looking for in a potential employee."
"I thought the Networking Reception was wonderful," Greg Isaac, Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Services and an advisor for SAAC, stated. "It was a great turnout and you could tell how comfortable the students were speaking with the professionals. It was a great, casual environment and the professionals were extremely friendly and approachable."
The event was organized by SAAC along with Student-Athlete Services and Megan Gormley, Assistant Director of the Falcon Club. The BGSU Career Center Director, Jeff Jackson, provided tremendous support for Networking Night as well.
