Six other Falcons earn honorable mention to 2014 squad
Bowling Green State University softball standout Katie Yoho has been named to the 2014 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team. The announcement came from the conference office on Monday afternoon (June 23).
Yoho, a native of Grove City, Ohio (Grove City), capped a stellar career with arguably the best season of her career in 2014. She started every game for the third-straight season, as her name was pencilled into the Falcons' lineup for all 52 contests this spring. Yoho hit .311 and homered 12 times en route to All-MAC First-Team honors for the Orange and Brown.
Yoho led the Falcons with 27 runs scored, 38 runs batted in and 96 total bases. She had six doubles and a triple, with a team-leading .575 slugging percentage, and she added 10 walks for a .350 on-base percentage. In the field, Yoho had a .967 fielding pct.
Yoho finished her BGSU career with 32 homers, good for second on the school's all-time list. She homered in the final game of her Falcon career, a win over arch-rival Toledo on 'Senior Day' at Meserve Field (May 4).
In the classroom, Yoho had a 3.327 cumulative grade-point average as a mild-moderate intervention specialist major.
Six other Falcons earned honorable mention on the Academic All-MAC Team for 2014. That list included senior Erika Stratton, juniors Shelby Fink, Chloe Giordano and Emily McClelland and sophomores Braiden Dillow and Marisa Shook.
