Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week Release
2014-15 MAC Men's Golfers of the Week
Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University sophomore Jose Narro was named the MAC Men's Co-Golfer of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. Narro split the weekly award with McCormick Clouser of Ball State.
Narro led the Falcons with rounds of 69, 66, and 71 on Monday and Tuesday to take first-place medalist honors overall with a combined tournament low 54-hole individual score of 206, -7 under par, at the 45th annual Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational in Huntington, West Virginia. The Tampico, Mexico native won the two-day event by three strokes, holding off Bill Gaffney of Youngstown State who shot a tournament score of 209, -4 under par.
Narro's second round 66, -5 under par, was a career-low round for the Falcon golfer in his second year at BGSU, while his tournament score of 206 equals the lowest 54-hole score of his career.
The win was the second intercollegiate win for Narro as a Falcon having won the inaugural Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational last April. Coincidently, both of his collegiate tournament wins have come in the state of West Virginia.
This marks the second conference weekly award in his career at BGSU, as he was also named the MAC Men's Golfer of the Week last year back on April 17.
