Triller Leads Falcons on Day One of the Badger Invitational

Madison, Wisconsin – Bowling Green State University senior Ryan Triller wrapped up day one of play in the top-20 overall, as he paced the Falcons on Sunday at the 2014 Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the par 72, 7,259-yards University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Falcons carded a team score of 305, +17, to end day one in ninth-place overall out of the 13 team field.

"We hit the ball good enough to compete, but just didn't make enough putts and didn't take advantage of the five par-5's on the course," commented head coach Kevin Farrell.

Leading the Falcons on the first day of play was Triller with a round of 73, +1. Triller carded 11 pars and three birdies on the day, and shot an even par 36 on the back nine to finish day one in a tie for 17th-place overall.

Right behind Triller was sophomores Brett Rinker and Jose Narro. Rinker turned in 14 pars and one birdie on his way to a 75, +3, while Narro shot a first round 77, +5, which included 11 pars and a birdie on the round. Rinker and Narro are tied for 32nd and 45th-places overall, respectively.

Junior Holden Pahr and sophomore Eli Stacy rounded out the BGSU lineup with rounds of 80, +8, and 86, +14, respectively. Each carded one birdie on the day.

Sam Houston State sits atop the team leaderboard with a first round team score of 283,-5 under par, while Marquette (287, -1) and Toledo (292, +4) are in second and third, respectively.

The second day of play is slated for a 9 a.m. tee time off of holes 1 and 10 tomorrow morning.
