Narro Shoots One Under Par on Monday at the Badger Invitational

Madison, Wisconsin – Falcons' sophomore Jose Narro shot a 71, -1 under par, on Monday, as the Bowling Green State University men's golf team carded a second round team score of 309, +21, 2014 Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the par 72, 7,259-yards University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin.
BGSU as a team will enter Tuesday's final round of play in 11th-place overall with a 36-hole combined score of 614, +38, with rounds of 305 and 309.
"We got off to a really good start today on the back nine, but there are a couple of tricky holes on the front nine and we had some big numbers," commented head coach Kevin Farrell. "We just couldn't close today."
Narro had a strong outing on Monday, as he posted two birdies and 15 pars on his way to a second round 71, -1 under par. Combined with his first round 77, +5, on Sunday, the sophomore will enter the final round of play tied for 19th-place overall with a 36-hole combined score of 148, +4.
Senior Ryan Triller, who led BGSU with a first round 73, +1, on Sunday, followed up with a second round 78, +6, to give him a two-round combined score of 151, +7. Tied for 32nd-place overall after two days of play, Triller posted three birdies over his 18-holes of play on Monday.
BGSU sophomore Brett Rinker turned in a second round 79, +7, tallying a birdie on both the front and back nine on the day. Along with his first round 75, +3, Rinker is in a tie for 46th-place overall with a two-round combined score of 154, +10.
Carding a 81, +9, on day two was junior Holden Pahr, while sophomore Eli Stacy improved by two strokes on his second round of play with a score of 84, +12. Pahr is in a tie for 69th-place overall with a two-round combined score of 161, +17, while Stacy's 36-hole score of 170, +26, has him in 78th-place overall.
Sam Houston State increased its lead to 10 strokes with a second round 293, +5, to enter day three with a team-low two-round combined score of 576, even par. Marquette (586, +10) and USC Upstate (587, +11) round out the top-three on the team leaderboard, while Kansas (588, +12) and Toledo (588, +12) are tied for fourth-place overall.
The third and final round of play will tee-off with a shotgun start set for 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.
