Falcons’ Rinker Tabbed MAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Junior BGSU men's golf Brett Rinker was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of Oct. 15-21, it was announced today by the league office.
Rinker finished as the individual runner-up at the inaugural Mountaineer Intercollegiate with his 36-hole score of 140, -4 under par. With the tournament shortened due to weather, Rinker posted back-to-back rounds of 70, -2 under par, to finish second overall and only one stroke out of first-place. The second-place finish was his first top-five finish thus far this 2015 fall season.
The junior recorded an eagle, 10 birdies and 17 pars over his 36-holes of play. Rinker, who eagled the par-5 No. 8 on Tuesday, finished the tournament tied for second with a par-4 scoring average of 3.95, -1 under par, and tied for fourth with a par-5 scoring average of 4.63, -3 under par. He also finished the tournament tied for second with 10 birdies.
It is the second MAC men's golfer of the week honor in his career at BGSU.
The Falcons will return to competition next week, as BGSU will tee-off at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Oct. 25-27 in Powells Point, N.C.
