Johnson, Griffin Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Matt Johnson and swimmer Victoria Griffin.
Male Athlete of the Week
Matt Johnson, a redshirt senior from Harrisburg, Pa., passed for 430 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-0 win at Kent State Saturday. For Johnson, it was his sixth 400-yard game of the season in just eight weeks and his third consecutive game in which he has passed for five touchdowns. He added another 45 yards rushing and yet another TD, accounting for six total touchdowns.
Female Athlete of the Week
Victoria Griffin, a junior from Littlestown, Pa., helped the Falcons to a dual meet victory over Ohio to start the Matt Ense era Saturday. Griffin won both the 100 and 200 freestyle, while finishing second in the 50 free, just .15 seconds away from sweeping the freestyle sprints. Her 100 free time of 50.98 seconds was just .1 seconds from the top 10 all-time at BGSU. She also swam the opening leg of the 400 freestyle relay which placed second.
