Iglesias, Walny Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's golfer Pablo Heredia Iglesias and women's cross country runner Rachel Walny.

Male Athlete of the Week
Pablo Heredia Iglesias, a freshman from Sevilla, Spain, posted his second top-five finish of the fall season, finishing fourth overall with a 54-hole score of 210, -3 under par, to lead the Falcons to a second-place finish at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate. Iglesias carded rounds of 66, 72 and 72 and had 11 birdies and an eagle during the tournament.

Female Athlete of the Week
Rachel Walny, a redshirt freshman from Clinton Township, Mich., placed fifth overall at the Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships with a time of 21:06.90, the fastest 6,000-meter time for a BGSU runner at the MAC Championships in program history. For her performance, she was named All-MAC and MAC Freshman of the Year.
