MOBILE, Ala. - The Bowling Green State University football team is bowling for the fourth consecutive season, and is currently enjoying their fourth consecutive bowl game experience at the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl. After arriving via charter flight on Saturday afternoon in Mobile, the Falcons headed to a southern-style shrimp boil as the GoDaddy Bowl hosted both teams for 'A Christmas Experience' welcome reception at the Mobile Civic Center. Following the dinner, teams were able to partake in a concert featuring Christian hip-hop artist TobyMac.
On Sunday, the team started the morning with a breakfast at the team hotel, followed by position meetings to get focus back on Wednesday night's game. After practicing all week on campus in preparation for Georgia Southern, the Falcons got back on the practice field Sunday afternoon at UMS-Wright, a local preparatory school. Prior to the morning's practice, the team had the opportunity to tour the USS Alabama. The USS Alabama has a deep history fighting as part of the US Naval fleet in World War II. Fans can read more about the historic battleship HERE.
During the evening, the Falcons returned to the team hotel for some down time before dinner. Part of the evening's festivities included the group receiving their remaining bowl gifts from the GoDaddy Bowl. After receiving a Lit Cooler back in BG prior to departing for Mobile, the team also received a GoDaddy Bowl signature football, a watch with the bowl's logo on it, and a Sol Republic Punk bluetooth speaker. The team has also received travel suits, t-shirts and shorts emblazoned with the GoDaddy Bowl logo throughout this experience.
Day three will be full of activities, as a group of Falcons will head to the Mobile Children's Hospital in the morning to hand out gifts and hang out with local children who are in the hospital this holiday season. This afternoon the team will head back to UMS-Wright for another practice, before heading to Camellia Lanes for a team bowling competition later tonight. A photo gallery from day 2 at the GoDaddy Bowl can be found above, along with interviews throughout the day by Alfonso Mack and Alex Huettel.
