Keegan, Griffin Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week
March 02, 2015 | Baseball, General, Women's Swimming & Diving
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Trey Keegan and swimmer Victoria Griffin.

Male Athlete of the Week
Trey Keegan, a redshirt sophomore from Sandusky, Ohio, reached base 13 times in 16 plate appearances over the weekend, helping the Falcons to get off to their best start in a season since 2008. Keegan led the Falcons with a .667 (6-for-9) batting average, as BGSU defeated Eastern Kentucky in 2-of-3. The redshirt sophomore had an on-base percentage of .813 to lead the team. He also had a team-high five RBI. In Friday's first game, Keegan was on base four times, recording two RBI, three runs scored, and a double. In the second game of Friday's doubleheader, Keegan reached base four more times, recording an RBI and scoring a run. In Saturday's win over the Colonels, Keegan reached base five times, scoring three runs and knocking in two more.
Female Athlete of the Week
Victoria Griffin, a sophomore from Littlestown, Pa., earned a place on the All-MAC First Team for her strong performance this past weekend at MAC Championships. The sophomore helped the Falcons place third overall, despite not having any divers compete. Griffin swam in three individual championship finals, placing in the top five in all three races. She set a school record in the 50 freestyle, swimming a 23.04 and finishing third. Griffin's success continued in the 100 freestyle where she took second place overall with an NCAA B cut qualifying time of 49.88. The Pennsylvania native claimed fifth place in the 200 freestyle, rounding out her individual events. Griffin swam in all three freestyle relays, helping the team to two third place and one fourth place finishes. She also swam the freestyle leg of the 400 medley relay where Bowling Green placed fourth in the conference.
