Narro Places 25th at 2015 Azalea Invitational

Charleston, S.C. – Bowling Green State University men's golfer Jose Narro finished in four-way tie for 25th-place overall this week at the 2015 Azalea Invitational held at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. from March 25-29.

In the invitation only event, Narro carded a four-day score of 284, +3, to finish 25th out of over 110 entrants. The sophomore posted rounds of 68, 68, 74 and 74 to make up his combined 72-hole score of 284.

"I struggled throughout the weekend. It was cold and windy, and the wind switched direction both days so the course played different each day," commented Narro. "I just couldn't get anything going today, but that is golf. I just have to work on my game and be ready for next week's tournament. It was a good experience to play in this tournament with a lot of highly ranked players and it is nice to see that I'm at the same level as they are."

Over his final round of play on Sunday, Narro recorded three birdies, nine pars and six bogeys over his 18 holes of play. He shot a 38, +2, on the front nine, which included a birdie on hole number eight, and then a 36, +1, on the back nine with birdies on holes 10 and 15.

Narro totaled 16 birdies and 42 pars over his 72 holes of play.

"This was a great experience for Jose," added BGSU men's golf head coach Kevin Farrell. "Not only was it an honor for him to be invited to this prestigious event, but he also played well all four days which showed that he belonged there. Jose will now take this experience and grow from it as we continue our spring season next week."
