BGSU Men’s Golf Adds Pablo Heredia

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University men's golf head coach Kevin Farrell is excited to announce the signing of Pablo Heredia (Sevilla, Spain) to a National Letter of Intent to continue both is academic and athletic careers at BGSU come Fall 2015.
"Pablo is one of the strongest golf recruits that BG has ever had. His resume is remarkable and he continues to get better and better every week," Farrell stated. "I am excited to see how his game continues to progress this summer as he has a big tournament schedule. I see him making an immediate impact in the lineup for us next year."
From Sevilla, Spain, Heredia has posted a stroke average of 74.39 over a total of 84 rounds of play from July 2013 to April 2015 and is currently ranked second-place overall in the U-18 Andalucia State and sixth-place in the U-18 Spanish rankings.
Having carded rounds of 66 at the U-18 Spanish International Championship in Sept. 2014, a 67 at both the Canarias Championship in Mar. 2015 and the Sevilla County Championship in Oct. 2014, and a 68 at the U-18 Spanish Championship in Apr. 2014, Heredia was most recently the winner of the U-18 Spanish Inter-State Championship just this month, Apr. 2015.
In March of this year, Heredia posted a ninth-place finish at the Canarias Championship as part of the International Amateur Championship and turned in an 11th-place showing at the U-18 Spanish Championship.
Prior to that, the 5-7 Spaniard competed at The SM El Rey Cup in which he was named the Most Outstanding International Amateur Championships in Spain for the event after placing 11th at the Baleares Cup in Feb.
Over the 2014 calendar year, Heredia posted wins at the Sevilla County Junior Championship and the Maestranza Cup, while finished in fourth-place at the Andalucia State International Championship and sixth-place at the U-18 Spanish International Championship.
Heredia, who played in The British Boys Amateur Championship at Scotland in August 2014, won the 2011 U-14 Andalucia State International Championship, took fourth-place at the 2012 U-16 Andalucia State International Championship and finished in fifth-place at the 2013 U-16 Andalucia State International Championship.
Coached by Jose Carlos Gutierrez, who also coached Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, Jorge Campillo and Rafael Cabrer-Bello, Heredia joined one of the best Spanish Junior Golf Schools in Real Club Golf Sevilla in 2006. He is also a member of the Real Federacion Española Golf Club and the Real Federacion Andaluza Golf Club.
In May 2014, he helped lead a team of four players to finish runner-up at the Andalucia State Amateur Team Championships, after guiding his team to a tournament win at the 2013 U-16 Andalucia State Team Championship in Sept. Heredia also helped guide his team to a runner-up finish in 2012 at the Andalucia State Championship Team event and a first-place win at the U-14 Spanish Handicap Team Championship in 2011.
Heredia, who plans to major in business administration with a concentration in economics while at BGSU, will join local Bowling Green product Trey Walker (Bowling Green HS) as the two incoming freshmen for the Falcons in the fall of 2015.
