BGSU’s Rinker to Play in the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament for Champions

Sunnehanna Amateur Championship Information
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University men's golfer Brett Rinker will compete in the 62nd Annual Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament for Champions on June 17-20 at the Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
The Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania native, qualified for the amateur championship event with a round of 72, even par, to finish in a tie for fourth-place overall at the qualifying event held at Bedford Springs. The rising junior then advanced in a playoff to finish in the top-five overall to earn a spot in the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament Championship field.
The first two rounds of play will take place on Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, with an 8:00 a.m. start time. Following the third round of play on Friday, June 19, the field will be cut down to 50 players & ties with the fourth and final round scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 20.
A number of both past and current champions on the PGA Tour have played in this event including names such as Tommy Aaron, Fred Couples, Ben Crenshaw, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Jordan Spieth, Craig Stadler, Art Wall, Jr., Tiger Woods, Julius Boros, Charles Evans, Jr., Jim Furyk, Lucas Glover, Hubert Green, Lee Janzen, Steve Jones, Andy North, Scott Simpson, Webb Simpson, Curtis Strange, David Duval, Tom Lehman, Justin Leonard, Bill Rogers, Mark Brooks, Davis Love III, John Mahaffey, Steve Elkington, Jeff Sluman, Hal Sutton, Bob Tway, Rickie Fowler and Lanny Wadkins.
