Southport, England – Incoming BGSU freshman golfer Pablo Heredia continued his strong summer with a two round stroke play score of 147, +4, over the first two rounds of play at the 2015 British Boys Amateur Championship on Aug. 11-12 to advance on to match play.
"This is a big event for Pablo, as it is equivalent to the U.S. Junior's event here, but in Europe," commented BGSU head coach Kevin Farrell. "Pablo is playing really well and has all summer. He has been consistent throughout each round of play and continues to show that he can play well under pressure and in some big time events."
On day one of play on Aug. 11, Heredia carded four birdies and 10 pars to finish with a 73, +1, at the Southport & Ainsdale Golf Course. The Sevilla, Spain native followed with a second round score of 74, +3, on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Royal Birkdale Course. He turned in two birdies and 13 pars over his second round of play and climbed up six spots to 34th-place overall.
Heredia will take on Jake Benson of Denmark in round two of match play tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. UK time, which is 3:00 a.m. ET time.
