2015 British Boys Amateur Championship - Match Play Results
Southport, England – Bowling Green State University incoming men's golf Pablo Heredia saw his time at the 2015 British Boys Amateur Championship come to an end on Thursday, Aug. 13, as the future Falcon fell in match play in round two of the six day event at the Royal Birkdale and Southport & Ainsdale Golf Clubs in England.
"I am proud of Pablo and the way he has played this summer," stated BGSU men's golf head coach Kevin Farrell. "I am excited for him, and all the other guys, to get here this fall and begin to get to work for a very tough 2015-16 schedule. Pablo has the potential to come in and compete right away, and to help our team continue to take steps toward challenging in each event we play in."
Heredia was defeated by Jake Benson of Denmark by two holes, as he took the match all the way to the 18th green with a chance to send the bout onto the 19th hole.
The Sevilla, Spain native got to the match play draw with a two round combined score of 147, +4, over the first two days of stroke play on Aug. 11-12. He carded a first round 73, +1, and a second round 74, +3, to place in a 34th-place overall on the leaderboard and advance to the match play portion of the prestigious amateur event.
Heredia will join the Falcons come this fall, as BGSU will open up play at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Sept. 14-15 at the Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, W.Va.
