Eric Nichols enters his seventh season at the helm of the BGSU men's soccer program in 2015. Since being named the Falcons' mentor on Feb. 17, 2009, Nichols has built not just a winning team, but a successful program both on and off the pitch.
Nichols took over a team that had dropped to the bottom of the Mid-American Conference, and slowly but surely returned the Falcons to relevance in the MAC and the region. Last season, the Orange and Brown won 14 matches, the program's highest total in 17 seasons. BGSU more than doubled the previous season's win total, and the Falcons advanced to the championship match of the MAC Tournament for the first time since 2003.

Nichols and the Falcons open the 2015 season tomorrow night (Aug. 28), hosting SIUE in a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Cochrane Stadium. BG also has a home date on Sunday (Aug. 30), when Western Illinois comes to town for a 1:00 p.m. match. Admission is free to all BGSU soccer home regular-season matches.
