Flynn, Hubert Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. The first winners of the 2015-16 season are men's soccer player Pat Flynn and women's soccer player Erica Hubert.
Male Athlete of the Week
Pat Flynn, a junior from Naperville, Ill., had four goals and an assist as BGSU men's soccer beat SIU Edwardsville 3-1 and Western Illinois 4-1 to open the season. He had a goal and an assist in the victory over SIUE, a team that went to the NCAA Tournament a year ago. He followed that up with a hat trick against Western Illinois, scoring less than three minutes into the match and then two more times in the second half. It was the second hat trick of his BGSU career.
Female Athlete of the Week
Erica Hubert, a redshirt freshman from Welland, Ontario, had two goals and an assist as the BGSU women's soccer team started the year with a 2-1-0 record, the team's finest start since 2002. She recorded her first career goal and first career assist in a 4-0 victory over Chicago State to open the season and then added a goal in a win over IPFW. She was also named MAC Player of the Week for her effort.
