Mwembia, Stam Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's soccer player Anthony Mwembia and diver Claire Stam.
Male Athlete of the Week
Anthony Mwembia, a freshman from Toulouse, France, had a goals against average of 0.48 as the Falcons played a pair of road games. He made four saves and kept nationall-ranked Kentucky off the scoreboard until an overtime goal int he 98th minute. He then had two saves in a shutout win at Northern Illinois to help the Falcons move into first place in the MAC.
Female Athlete of the Week
Claire Stam, a sophomore from Grand Rapids, Mich., recorded an NCAA qualifying score in the 1-meter diving event against Toledo at the Battle Of I-75 Friday. She had her highest six-dive score of the year and was also victorious in the 3-meter diving event. BGSU defeated Toledo 196-95 in the team's first dual meet of the year.
