Dufour, Sunjic Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Kevin Dufour and volleyball player Jelena Sunjic.
Male Athlete of the Week
Kevin Dufour, a senior from Quebec City, Quebec, scored in back-to-back games against Northern Michigan this weekend, leading the Falcons to 5-1 and 5-3 wins for their first sweep of the season. Dufour tallied five shots on goal, one blocked shot and a +2 rating on the weekend. Friday, he tallied not only his first goal of the season, but also the game-winning goal when he capitalized on a wrister midway through the first period to put the Falcons up 2-0. On Saturday, Dufour found the back of the net 5:16 into the second period to break a 2-2 tie and give the Falcons the 3-2 lead with a wraparound attempt, and to go on a two-game scoring streak.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jelena Sunjic, a senior outside hitter who hails from Metkovic, Croatia, had the best weekend of her illustrious career over the weekend, which led the Falcons to sweeps over Buffalo (Nov. 11) and Akron (Nov. 12). In 65 attempts, Sunjic had 41 kills (6.83/set), and a remarkable zero errors. Sunjic hit .631 (41-0-65) for the weekend. In the win over Buffalo, the senior had 21 kills (7.00/set), hit .656 (21-0-32), and had a career-high seven aces. In the victory over Akron, Sunjic picked up 20 kills (6.67/set) while hitting .606 (20-0-33).
