Heredia Iglesias Battles Weather & Playing Conditions at The Amateur Championship

Mid Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom – On a day that saw scattered showers and high winds throughout the round of play effect the entire tournament field, Falcon men's golfer Pablo Heredia Iglesias shot a round of 76, +5, at the Plye & Kenfig Golf Club on Tuesday on day two of the 2016 British Amateur Championship held at the Royal Porthcawl and Pyle & Kenfig Golf Clubs in Rest Bay, Porthcawl, Mid Glamorgan, Wales.
Heredia Iglesias, who moved up the player leaderboard up one spots with his round of 76, missed the cut of +5 overall with his 36-hole score of 150, +8.
Over his 18-holes of play on Tuesday, the rising sophomore totaled 13 pars and five bogeys overall in which the playing conditions were very challenging throughout the 18-hole round.
Teeing-off in the early morning hours, Heredia Iglesias opened up his second round with back-to-back bogeys out of the gate to fall to +2 after just two holes of play. However, the Spaniard was able to collect himself and card six straight pars, before bogeying hole No. 9 to finish with a 39, +4, on the front nine.
His back nine holes would be much of the same, as he went par and bogey on the first two holes, before running off five consecutive pars to remain at +3 with two holes remaining. Heredia Iglesias closed out his round with a bogey on the par 4 hole No. 17 and a par on hole No. 18 to end the day with a back nine score of 37, +2, and a final 18-hole score of 76, +5.
