Incoming Freshman Wide Receiver Calvin Clater Wins Texas State High Jump Title

Bowling Green, Ohio – Incoming BGSU Football player Calvin Clater won the Texas 5A State Championship in the high jump Friday, clearing 6-feet-11 in the event. Clater, from Fort Worth South Hills High School, ranks among the top 20 high school high jumpers in the country.
A 6-3 wide receiver, Clater is a member of one of the highest ranked classes in BGSU Football history. The Falcons were ranked among the top two classes in the Mid-American Conference by virtually every reputable organization.
While the national leader in the high jump has cleared 7-6, Clater is tied for 15th in the country with his 6-11 jump, according to Athletic.net. He also competed in hurdles, high jump and long jump this year.
