Narro Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by GCAA

NORMAN, Okla. – Bowling Green men's golf graduate Jose Narro has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for his achievements as a student-athlete in the 2016-17 campaign by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Narro was a senior for the 2016-17 season posting a 73.22 scoring average paired with a 3.420 GPA.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
It is Narro's second consecutive season earning the All-America Scholar honor, a recognition he also was awarded for his efforts in the 2015-16 season. The Tampico, Mexico native is one of a record number 260 Division I men's golfers to receive the honor for the 2016-17 campaign.
