Josh Cleveland Nominated For Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award

Tyler, Texas - Senior running back Josh Cleveland is one of 45 college football players nominated for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, given annually to the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity. Additionally, the award is limited to players who were born in the state of Texas, attended a Texas high school, or attended a Texas junior college or University.

Cleveland was born in Austin, Texas, went to high school in Texas at Del Valle High School and played junior college in the state at Navarro College. He is the only player in the Mid-American Conference nominated for the award and one of only two in the state of Ohio.

In his first year with the Falcons, Cleveland was the team's second-leading rusher in 2016 with 649 yards, averaging a team-high 6.4 yards per carry. An explosive back, he had a season-long carry of 85 yards and scored two touchdowns. Cleveland had season highs with 18 carries for 153 yards against Middle Tennessee State and closed the year with back-to-back 100-yard performances. He also caught nine passes and finished with 717 all-purpose yards.
