Learn from Coach Willis & her staff at Meserve Field this summer & fall
The Bowling Green State University softball program will offer a veritable plethora of camps this summer. Players of all ages and skill levels can find what they are looking for in one or more of the individual and team camps offered by head coach Sarah Willis and the Falcons at Meserve Field.
BGSU SOFTBALL CAMP REGISTRATION
• Elite Pitching & Catching Clinic - June 19
• Elite Hitting Clinic - June 20
• Youth Clinic - July 3
• Elite All-Skills Camp - July 10
• Labor Day Camp - Sept. 3
Each of the camps is open to players from age 13 and up (through graduating high-school senior), with the exception of the Youth Clinic, which is for campers ages 6-12.
The Elite Pitching & Catching Clinic (June 19)Â will be focused on pitching and catching mechanics and offer a one-on-one instructional opportunity for players looking to take their game to the next level. The camp will offer a unique opportunity for athletes to learn fundamental drills that enhance their skill set and knowledge of the game. The Elite Hitting Clinic the following day (June 20) will offer players the opportunity to learn the offensive philosophy behind BGSU Softball, giving athletes the opportunity to learn fundamental drills to increase their offensive skill set and knowledge of the game.
The BGSUÂ Softball Youth Camp (July 3) will focus on learning basic fundamental drills to grow the skill set and knowledge base of each participant. Camp will feature skill instruction and modified games for participants.
The Elite Skills Camp (July 10) will be broken into two sessions. Session I will provide players with the opportunity to learn fundamental drills to enhance their pitching and catching skill-sets. The camp will feature individualized instruction for both pitchers and catchers. Session II will feature the opportunity for players to learn fundamental drills to enhance their offensive and defensive skill-sets. Players will learn offensive drills and defensive philosophies to take their game to the next level.
Willis and her program will also offer a Labor Day Camp (Sept. 3), which will also be broken into two sessions. Session I will cover Elite Pitching and Catching. Pitchers will receive individualized attention and be able to work on essential fundamentals to enhance skill and maximize performance, while catchers will work on in-game skills and game strategies that will enhance their game management skills. Session II will feature an All-Skills portion, covering the essential fundamentals of offense and defense. Campers will perform drills and learn hitting techniques that will enhance hitting performance, and then will be able to focus on the basic fundamentals of defense. This will be geared toward maximizing a player's skills at her primary position.
For all camps, campers will be responsible for bringing their own equipment (gloves, bats, helmets, batting gloves, cleats, and tennis shoes). All pitchers will be required to provide their own catcher separate from the catchers participating in the camp. In the event of inclement weather, the camp will be held indoors at Perry Field House. Tennis shoes or turf shoes are required for the use of the indoor facility.
