Falcons Clinch a Share of MAC Regular-Season Crown
October 27, 2019 | Women's Soccer
White's first-half goal lifts BG to 1-0 win at Western
By: KALAMAZOO, Mich. (BGSU Athletic Communications)
Freshman Kennedy White's first-half goal proved to be all the offense that the Bowling Green State University women's soccer team would need on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 27), as the Falcons posted a 1-0 win over Western Michigan University. The Mid-American Conference match was held at the WMU Soccer Complex.
With the victory, the Falcons (11-5-2, 9-1-0 MAC) have clinched a tie for the MAC regular-season title. With one game left in the regular season, BGSU is three points ahead of second-place Ball State.
White's goal in the 36th minute was her team-leading eighth of the season. Sophomore Mackenzie Reuber, like White a Michigan native, assisted on the goal. Reuber had the primary assist on the game-winning goal for the second-straight match.
BGSU outshot the Broncos by a 16-5 count in Sunday's win. Senior Kathleen Duwve made three saves en route to her fourth complete-match shutout of the season.
