MATT FANNON INTERVIEW (Oct. 30, 2019)
FIVE FASCINATING FALCON FACTS
• BGSU, as mentioned, has clinched a share of the MAC regular-season title. The Falcons are three points ahead of Ball State with one game to go (teams earn three points for a win and one for a tie). BSU wrap ups the regular-season slate at Miami on Thursday.
• With a BGSU win or tie vs. the Rockets, the Falcons would be outright regular-season champions.
• In the event of a Ball State win AND a BGSU loss on Thursday, the teams would tie for the regular-season crown, but BSU would earn the No. 1 seed for the league tourney by virtue of a win over the Falcons in the teams' head-to-head meeting.
• In any event, the Falcons will earn at least a share of the regular-season title for only the third time in program history. The 2005 Falcons won the MAC with a 9-2-0 league record, while last year's club posted the best conference mark in school history, going 10-1-0. Both the '05 and '18 teams earned the regular-season title outright.
• On Thursday, BGSU will be looking to continue the team's recent success on the road. The Falcons are a perfect 5-0-0 in MAC road matches this season to date, and BG is now 9-1-0 in conference road contests since the start of the 2018 season.

THE OPPONENT
• Toledo enters Thursday's BGSU match with an overall record of 7-11-0, and the Rockets are 4-6-0 in MAC play. After losing the first four conference contests, UT has gone 4-2 over the last three weeks. Last weekend, the Rockets split a pair of 1-0 matches on the road, falling to Western Michigan before beating Northern Illinois. UT is currently in a tie for eighth place in the MAC standings. Toledo is 5-3-0 at home and 2-8-0 on the road this year to date. In MAC play, the Rockets are  are 3-2-0 at Paul Hotmer Field and 1-4-0 away from home. Stephanie Currie leads the team with six goals and 15 points, while Anita Mancini has four goals and 11 points. In goal, Adrianna Brewer and Madison Perrin each have started nine matches. Brewer, who has made the last six starts, has 40 saves and a GAA of 1.21 this season to date. Perrin has 44 stops and a 2.22 GAA. Head coach TJ Buchholz welcomed back 20 players from last season's roster. Last year, the Rockets finished with records of 8-9-2 overall and 4-6-1 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• BGSU trails Toledo, 15-8-4, in the all-time series between the teams, but the Falcons captured last year's meeting. Sarah Allen and Maureen Kennedy scored second-half goals as the Brown and Orange posted a 2-1 come-from-behind win at Cochrane Stadium. That match snapped an 11-game series winning streak for the Rockets. UT took a pair of 2-1 decisions two years ago, including the regular-season matchup in the Glass City and an overtime victory in the MAC Tournament's championship match in Kent, Ohio. BGSU is 2-7-3 at home, 6-7-0 on the road and 0-1-1 in neutral-site matches vs. UT through the years.
DOWN THE ROAD...
• Following the UT match, the Falcons will host a MAC Tournament quarterfinal-round match on Sunday (Nov. 3). BGSU will face an opponent to be determined, with start time set for 1:00 p.m. at Cochrane Stadium. Admission is free.
• The four quarterfinal-round survivors will advance to the MAC Tournament semifinals, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, at the site of the highest-remaining seed. The championship match will be held at that same site on Sunday, Nov. 10.
