A total of 10 Bowling Green State University men's soccer student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team. The team was announced by the conference office Friday afternoon (Dec. 13).
Seniors Chris Brennan, Charlie Maciejewski and Tom Wrobel, juniors Zach Buescher, Chris Sullivan and Vinny Worner, and sophomores Jensen Lukacsko, Kale Nichols, Ike Swiger and Matt Walters all were named to the team.
Brennan, Macijewski and Wrobel all were named to the team for the third consecutive year, while Sullivan made the academic all-conference squad for the second-straight season. Buescher, Lukacsko, Nichols, Swiger, Walters and Worner each were named to the team for the first time.
BGSU's total of 10 student-athletes honored tied the Falcons for second in the conference. A total of 56 student-athletes were named to the team.
To be eligible for the Academic All-MAC honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's matches during the season.
BGSU closed the 2019 season with an overall record of 13-7-1. The Falcons posted a double-digit win total for the first time since 2014 and just the second time since 1998. BGSU more than doubled the team's victory total from the previous year.
The Falcons have a record of 18-9-3 over the last 30 matches.
