Rauhauser Claims Second Consecutive WCHA Defenseman Of The Week Award

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced weekly awards Monday afternoon (Dec. 9). Of those named, Alec Rauhauser once again earned the Defenseman of the Week for the conference, being the second consecutive week he has been recognized. Rauhauser was also named Defenseman of the Month in the WCHA last week for the month of November, after being named to the award in October as well.Â

This past weekend, Rauhauser rattled off four points against Alabama Huntsville as the Falcons went 1-0-1 on the weekend. He began the weekend on Friday with three assists, two of which came on Alex Barber power play goals while the third was a Rauhauser shot that was redirected at the goal by Brandon Kruse. As for Saturday, it was again a power play that Rauhauser assisted on, this time be a goal by Connor Ford.Â
Bowling Green defeated Alabama Huntsville on Friday night (Dec. 6) by a final score of 9-3. The Falcons overcame a 3-0 deficit against the Chargers, scoring nine goals over a span of 23 minutes of game play to claim the win. As for Saturday night (Dec. 7), Bowling Green and Alabama Huntsville went to double overtime, seeing the Orange and Brown net a goal from Max Johnson to claim the second WCHA point.
The Falcons will resume play this coming weekend, traveling to Lake Superior State for games on both Friday and Saturday (Dec. 13-14). Both games will have 7:07 p.m. puck drops. The series is the second of the season between the two teams with the first series ending in a split.Â
