Frye, Platts Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Dylan Frye and swimmer Daisy Platts.
Male Athlete of the Week
Dylan Frye, a junior from Miami, Fla., averaged 18.5 points, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.0 rebounds as the Falcons went 1-1 on the week. Frye scored 20 points, marking the 10th time in his career he's scored 20-plus points, in Bowling Green's win at Western Michigan on Feb. 5. He also tied his career high with four steals. Frye closed the week by scoring a team-high 17 points versus Toledo on Feb. 9.
Female Athlete of the Week
Daisy Platts, a freshman from Leicester, UK, continued to dominate events, including breaking the pool record in the 200 Backstroke en route to BGSU's win over Toledo, 223-129 -- the Falcons sixth straight win in the aquatic Battle of I-75. Platts placed first in six events, as follows: 400 Medley Relay (3:48.72), 100 Backstroke (55.53), 200 Freestyle (1:54.19), 200 Medley Relay (1:44.81), 200 Backstroke (1:58.02, pool record, one second shy of program record), 200 Individual Medley (2:07.84, led all 200 yards).Â
