Trey Walker Leads Falcons After Day One Of Border Olympics

Trey Walker's round one score keeps him near the top of the leaderboard
Laredo, Texas – The BGSU Men's Golf team concluded day one of the Border Olympics finishing in 15th place at a team score of +13. Trey Walker leads the Falcons and tied a season-low round posting a first-round score of 66 and a total score of -6 (66-72-138). Walker is sitting in seventh place overall.
Ward Kyle, who played as an individual, scored +1 and finished T50. Nick Hofland scored +2 and finished T57 and Rodrigue Vie scored +9 finishing T82. Rounding out the Falcons included Pablo Heredia Iglesias, who scored +1 and is currently T86, while Noah Firestone scored a +12 and sits T90.
Arkansas State leads a competitive field with a score of -31, followed by UT-Rio Grande Valley at -20 and Sam Houston State and Houston tied for third at -18, respectively. A total of 12 of the 16 teams competing are currently below par.
Last week, Walker finished T20 at the Colleton River Collegiate Tournament and tied Pablo Heredia Iglesias score of 66 for the lowest-round score of any Falcon.Â
