Brennan, Tavpash Named Jet's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Jet's Pizza Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's soccer player Chris Brennan and tennis player Marharita-Sophia Tavpash.
Male Athlete of the Week
Chris Brennan, a senior from Copley, Ohio, was directly involved in the scoring of three of BGSU's four goals during the past week. He scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Cleveland State midweek and added a pair of assists in a wild 4-3 overtime loss to Cincinnati. The goal against Cleveland State was the second game-winning goal of his career. His assists against Cincinnati came in each of the regulation periods.

Female Athlete of the Week
Marharita-Sophia Tavpash, a senior from Lviv, Ukraine, captured the Purdue Invitational Black Doubles Draw bracket championship with teammate Marta Bettinelli by going 4-0 over the weekend. The championship marked the second bracket win in as many invitationals for the duo, defeating a team from DePaul 8-7 (7-5) in the finals. She advanced to the third place match in the Purdue Invitational Gold Singles Draw as well, finishing in fourth place.
