Rodrigue Vie Leads Falcons On First Day Of Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas - The Bowling Green State University men's golf team finished the first day of the Border Olympics, hosted by the University of Houston, and currently sits tied for 13th place with a score of 598 (+22). Â
Rodrigue Vie led the charge for BGSU on day one, shooting a 143 (-1). Vie is tied for the most pars for any Falcon with 25 and is also the lone player for the Orange and Brown to record an eagle. Â
Nick Hofland is currently T-34th with a 147 (+3) and is tied with Vie for the most pars on the team with 25. Â
Dylan Fitchet is T-58th scoring 150 (+6). Fitchet is right behind Hofland and Vie with 24 pars and is tied with Hofland with an even 3.00 scoring average on Par 3s. Â
Curtis Hughes, Tom North and Ian Mackenzie-Olson round out the lineup for the Falcons. Hughes is T-70th with a score of 154 (+10). North and Mackenzie-Olson are right behind each other at +20 and +22, respectively. North shot a 164 and Mackenzie-Olson shot a 156. Â
BGSU will continue tomorrow and close out the Border Olympics as they are 13 shots within a top ten spot on the leaderboard. Play will resume tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. from Laredo, Texas.
