Gymnastics Recognized By WCGA For Academic Excellence

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team was one of 53 teams in the country to earn recognition by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) by posting a team grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2019-20 academic year.
"The academic success of the women's collegiate gymnastics programs across the country truly exemplifies the commitment to excellence in the classroom," BGSU gymnastics coach Kerrie Turner, who is also the president of the WCGA, said. "Despite the adversity faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, the student-athletes and teams continued to stay focused on the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of the in-person or remote educational environments. The accolades earned are a testament to the dedication, commitment, and incredible work ethic fostered within our member programs."
Bowling Green earned a 3.5687 team grade point average and had 10 student-athletes with a 3.50 GPA or better. Those 10 student-athletes all earned WCGA Scholastic All-America Award status and are Paige Bachner, Brooklynn Bloxom, Emily Cyphers, Katelyn Goldstrom, Lily Harsch, Taylor Jensen, Elena Lawson, Samantha Marion, Tess Muir and Taylor Worthington.
