Needham Named MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green's placekicker Nate Needham was named the MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors for games played through Nov. 28, announced the Mid-American Conference. It is the third honor for Needham this season.
Needham (Sr., Chesterton, Ind.), in windy northwestern Ohio conditions, hit on 4-of-5 of his field goals, including going 3-of-3 in the second half to help break a 10-10 tie. His 43-yard field goal in the third quarter broke the 10-10 tie and put BGSU up for good. After a safety by the BGSU defense to put the Falcons up by five, 15-10, Needham hit on a 40-yard field goal with 7:03 left in the game to make it an 8-point game. After a BGSU interception, Needham sealed the victory with a 39-yard field goal with 1:19 left to play, making it an 11-point game. His only field goal miss on the season came in a windy second quarter. The attempt was 43 yards.
Needham finished the season 19-of-20 on field goal attempts, including 12-of-13 on 40+ field goal attempts (2-of-2 from 50+). He is currently No. 1 in the nation in field goal success rate at 95 percent.
