Gymnastics Recognized By WCGA For Academic Excellence

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO - The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team was one of 58 teams in the country to earn recognition by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) by posting a team grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2020-21 academic year.
"Congratulations to the student-athletes, coaches, and support staff on a record-breaking year of academic success," BGSU gymnastics coach Kerrie Turner who is also the president of the WCGA, said. "The balance needed to be a successful student and athlete takes considerable planning and intentional effort, which was certainly heightened during pandemic conditions. I am thrilled to see women's gymnastics achieving incredibly high standards in the classroom during this challenging time."
Bowling Green earned a 3.7318 team grade point average and had 12 student-athletes with a 3.50 GPA or better. Those 12 student-athletes all earned WCGA Scholastic All-America Award status and are Paige Bachner, Lauren Bannister, Kayla Chan, Megan Decious, Katelyn Goldstrom, Lily Harsch, Taylor Jensen, Elena Lawson, Samantha Marion, Courtney Morrison, Tess Muir and Kylie Yacamelli.
