November 13, 2023 | Men's Soccer
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (BGSU Strategic Communications) – Bowling Green State University men's soccer standout Nathan Masters has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference's All-Tournament Team. The league announced the all-tournament team on Saturday (Nov. 11), following the championship game.
Masters, a native of Sylvania, Ohio (Northview H.S.), played all 90 minutes in the Falcons' MVC Tournament quarterfinal-round game against Northern Illinois, picking up an assist in his final collegiate contest. He played in 16 of BGSU's 18 matches on the season, starting all 16 contests, and had four points on a goal and two assists in 2023. In his BGSU career, the fifth-year Falcon played in a total of 75 matches, making 64 starts. He had a career total of 27 points on seven goals and 13 assists. Three of those 27 points came in NCAA Tournament play, as he scored a goal against Monmouth in the 2020 tournament (played in the spring of 2021), then picked up an assist at Louisville in the 2021 tourney. The Monmouth match was BGSU's first national tournament appearance since 1997, while the UofL match was the Falcons' first NCAA tourney win since that '97 campaign.
BGSU finished the season with an overall record of 7-8-3, and the Falcons went 4-4-0 in their inaugural season in the MVC, placing fourth in the nine-team league. Masters is one of just three players on the 26-man roster who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility.
